The Magoebaskloof area is within close proximaty of the Wolkberg mountain range. This presents an ideal environment for high energy adventure activities. Magoebaskloof Adventures offers a wide variety of activities and the Ebenezer Dam with it's clear clean waters will entice watersport lovers to take a dip!

Fishing:
Trout and Bass Fishing:
The area is well-known for trout and bass fishing. Ebenezer Dam has some good fishing but not all waters are open to the public. Permits for Haenertsburg Trout Association waters for members and non-members available at Haenertsburg Liquor Store in Rissik Street. Tel: 015 276 4765

Cheerio Trout Fishing Resort

Trout fishing is offered in three dams on the property and at an owned property on the Broederstroom - 10 minutes drive.
Fishing can also be arranged in the waters of the local Trout Fishing Association.
Forest, riverside and garden walks can be undertaken from the property and hiking, mountain biking, horse-riding and 4x4 trails are in close proximity.

Zwakala River Retreat:

Zwakala River Retreat is situated on a privately owned farm in the beautiful Magoebaskloof Mountains in the Limpopo Province. We offer cottages as well as a camping site, located next to a tranquil river in the beautiful mountains.
The cottages and the campsite are right on the banks of the Broederstroom River - the source of the Great Letaba River. The river is perfect for trout fishing, tubing and swimming and is renowned for its clear waters and restorative qualities. Jump into the mountain waters and revive your soul! Legend also has it that once you have drunk the waters of the Letaba River you will always return.

Lekgalameetse Nature Reserve:
The entrance to this reserve is at Ofcolaco on the R36 and it takes visitors up to the area called 'The Downs'. This is a vast area with beautiful views and grasslands. Visit the Pioneers Graves and 'Kerkbos'. These is a well-equipped bush camp managed by Limpopo Parks.

Lesodi Hiking Trail - Magoebaskloof:
This trail starts at the Magoebaskloof Hotel and winds its way through the indigenous forest of Magoebaskloof Valley. The trail takes about two and a half hours to complete. maps available at the hotel and Sandford Heights Nursery.

Louis Changuion Trail - Haenertsburg Village:
Starting in the village, the 10km long trail takes approximately 4 hours to complete. It meanders through natural grasslands and indigenous forests. Maps at various shops in the village.

Magoebaskloof Hiking Trails:
These trails are situated on the escarpment close to Haenertsburg. Hikers are offered several options of two to five day trails. Well positioned. Overnight huts.

Rooikat Hiking Trail in the New Agatha Forest:
This trail winds through the new Agatha Forest and takes hikers past rapids, steams and cascades. Picnic facilities available at Die Akker Picnic Spot.

Wolkberg Wilderness Area:
There are no specific trails marked in the Wolkberg, but visitors can park their vehicles at Serala Forest Station and walk into the mountain area. Please take care as the weather can change very quickly. Be well equipped!

Haenertsburg Cemetery:Haenertsburg Cemetary
Historic and serene with beautiful views of the village and mountains. It is here where the graves of the pioneers of this area can be found.


And, every once in a while, when the moon is full, and the wind is still, the villages go up to the cemetary with a picnic basket to enjoy the view and the serenity of this unusual place.
Peace Pole and Millennium Monument:
On the town square in Haenertsburg the villagers erected a peace pole and millennium monument on 1January 2000 to mark the beginning of a new millennium.
Santa Rosa Labyrinth:
The Santa Rosa Labyrinth is a seven circuit labyrinth situated within the Arboretum in the south eastern corner of the Market Square. Found in ancient and modern civilizations labyrinths are used as tools for meditation and centering. Do not rush your walk - enjoy the experience.

Modjadji Cycad Forest:
The Modjadji Cycad Reserve, near Modjadjiskloof, features the world's largest concentration of a single-species cycad, also know as the 'Modjadji Palm'. Permits must be obtained at the entrance to the reserve. Information centre, kiosk, picnic and braai sites.
Sunland Baobab:
One of the largest surviving baobab trees in the world. A pub was created from the existing cavity within the tree.
