Magoebaskloof – one of the most sought after
destinations in Limpopo!
Situated between Polokwane and Tzaneen on the R71 the Magoebaskloof and Haenertsburg areas boast a full range of activities to satisfy even the most discerning visitor. The weather is temperate and there is a wide variety of accommodation to choose from. Adventure activities include canopy tours in Georges Valley, gecko-tubing, kloofing, abseiling and quad biking.
Hiking and walking is another popular past time and there are
a variety of hiking and walking trails available. The Louis
Changuion hiking trail in the village of Haenertsburg is very popular and takes visitors through the indigenous grasslands
above the village with lovely views of the village and surrounding
mountains.
The Lesodi hiking trail is a shorter trail - 2 - 3 hours - and meanders through the indigenous forest of the kloof just below the Magoebaskloof Hotel. This trail is reasonably difficult and can be a bit slippery on wet weather but it is certainly worth the effort.
